Bee Happy – Greeting Card

Hi everyone.  Hope you are all okay.  I am going for a bright and cheery spring themed card today.

I started with a 6 x 6 inch card blank.  I cut a panel of card to 14.2cm square, giving me a nice white border at the end, and I die cut a circular aperture into this panel.

Using the “Bee Happy” stamp set from Docrafts, I stamped the images of the bee and the leaves on the panel, before blending some “Wild Honey” Distress Oxide from the outer edge inwards.  Using a stencil from TCW called “Reverse Chicken Wire”, I inked through with the same “Wild Honey” ink, to create a honeycomb effect in two of the corners.  I then inked around the very edges of the panel with the “Jet Black” Archival ink.

I stamped and cut out 3 of the daisy heads, before colouring all these, the bees and the leaves with Kuretake Clean Colour pens.

On the front of the card blank, I inked through the chicken wire stencil with “Wild Honey”, before stamping “Bee Happy” using a script stamp that I had in my stash in “Jet Black” Archival ink.

I stuck the topper onto the card front using foam tape, to add some dimension; before using foam tape to stick the daisy heads onto the card.

I finished the card by adding some Glossy Accents to the centres of the daisies and over the bee’s wings, before adding a few dots of Liquid Pearls in “Onyx Pearl” to the corners.
